Gerald Hill, Former School Director, Died
Gerald G. Hill of 1051 W. First St., a retired employee of the Pennzoil Company and a former member of the Cranberry Area School Board, died at 10:35 pm Saturday in Franklin Hospital. He was born at Hill City May 3, 1894. a son of the late George and Elizabeth Moore Hill. He graduated from Franklin High School and attended Slippery Rock State Teachers College and Pennsylvania State University.
Mr. Hill retired in 1959 from Pennzoil. At the time of his retirement he was employed at the loading rack. He was school crossing guard at Smedley and West First Street for seven years. Mr. Hill served as treasurer of the Cranberry Area School Board for 12 years. He was a member of Seneca United Methodist Church; also Oil City Lodge 710 F & AM. Venango Lodge of Perfection and the Coudersport Consistory.
He was married July 14, 1921, to the former Laura Exley, who survives along with a daughter Mrs. Robert L. (Joan) Dallas of Titusville, a sister, Mrs. Margaret B. Mark of Titusville, and two granchildren, David and Jan Elizabeth Dallas of Titusville.
Two sisters are deceased. Masonic memorial services will be held at 7:15 pm in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
