John H. Exley
Funeral services for John H. Exley, 94, of Main Street, Knox, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the William N. Rupert Mortuary in Knox.
Mr. Exley died at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 1994, at his residence.
Rev. Robert Suder, pastor of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Knox, will officiate at Saturday's services.
Interment will follow in Knox Union Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Rupert mortuary.
Born June 3, 1900, in Knox, he was a son of the late William and Elizabeth Egar Exley.
Mr. Exley retired from U.S. Corrugated Fibre Box Compa­ny in Knox, where he worked for 40 years.
He was involved in the oil and gas industry most of his life and was president of Exley Oil & Gas Company in Knox.
In his earlier years, Mr. Exley was bandmaster of the Knox Marching Band.
He was married Aug. 5, 1932, to the former Margaret Master, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, William F. Exley of Seattle, Wash., and J. Theodore Exley of Toledo, Ohio; five grand­daughters, Darcy Exley, Leslie Exley and Tara Plypick, all of Seattle, Wash., and Megan Ex­ley and Ellyn Exley of Toledo, Ohio; one great-grandson; and a brother, Homer Exley of Knox.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Exley was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Exley and Walter Exley; and two sisters, Mary Kaber and Edna Switzer.

Margaret LaRue Exley
Margaret LaRue Exley, 90, for­merly of 327 Main St., Knox, died Thursday Sept. 3, 1998, at Foun­dation Park Care Center in Tole­do, Ohio. She had lived in Toledo for the last several years.
Born Nov. 7, 1907, in Piney, W. Va., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Etta LaRue Neely Master. She grew up in Lamartine.
She had several retail sales po­sitions during her lifetime and re­tired from Logue's Appliance and Gift Shop in Knox. She also par­ticipated in her family's oil and gas well business, Exley Oil & Gas Corp.
Mrs. Exley enjoyed her flower gardening and her family, espe­cially trips to Seattle, Connecticut and Toledo.
On Aug. 5, 1932, she married John Exley, who preceded her in death on June 7, 1994. They had been married 62 years and lived in Knox throughout their married lifetime, enjoying many friends there.
Mrs. Exley was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Knox, a lifetime member of Park­er City Chapter No. 60 Order of the Eastern Star, and a former member of the Rebecca Lodge and the Knox Civic Club.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, William F. and Cora Exley of Seattle and J. Theodore and Suellen Exley of Toledo; five granddaughters, Dar­cy L. Exley of Seattle, Leslie and her husband, Dana Neighbor, of Seattle, Tara LaRue and her hus­band, Ron Plypick of Seattle, Megan R. Exley of Toledo and El­lyn E. Exley of Toledo; and three great grandchildren, Justin and Sydne LaRue Plypick of Seattle and Bryce Neighbor of Seattle.
She is also survived by one brother, Norbert Master of Clin­tonville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Carlos Master, Earl Master, Beryl Master and Fred Master; and two sisters, Jessie Dehart and Florence Ruts.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the William N. Rupert Mortuary in Knox.
A graveside service and inter­ment will be held at 11 am. Wednesday in Knox Union Ceme­tery with the Rev. Gary Hilfiger, pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Knox Public Library, the Alzheitner's Association or the American Cancer Society.
