OBITUARY – RAYMOND PETRI, SR. - Erie Newspaper - 1984
Raymond E. Petri, Sr., 73, 7380 Main St., Fairview, died Tuesday, June 5, 1984, at Hamot Medical Center. He was born in McKean, April 12, 1911, a son of the late John and Margaret Bax Petri. Mr. Petri was employed as a mechanic for Anderson Motor Sales in Fairview, was a guard for R-P & C Valve in Fairview, was a paper carrier for the Times Publishing Company in the west county for 10 years, and was the owner of Ray's Electric Service for the last 20 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Federated Church of East Springfield and was a former member of the Fairview Fire Department. Survivors include his widow, Elizabeth Childs Exley Petri; two sons, John L. and Raymond E. Petri Jr., both of Fairview; three daughters, Mrs. James (Tootle) Moore of Fact Springfield, Nancy Shaffer of Platea and Mrs. Edward (Rebecca) Perkowski of Albion; a brother, Elmer Petri of Lake City; and a sister, Mrs. Michael (Ethel) Desko of Fairview. Friends called at the Burton Funeral Home, Fairview, on Thursday and attended a service there on Friday. The Fairview Fire Department conducted a service at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fairview Fire Department or the West County Paramedics.

ELIZABETH EXLEY PETRI - Worked at Louis Marx & Co.
Elizabeth Childs Exley, 89, formerly of 7380 W. Ridge Road, Fairview, died Friday, July 18, 2003, at her daughter's home in East Springfield. She was born Nov. 17, 1913, in Cleveland, daughter of the late Reginald Chetwood and Clara Merritt Exley. She was a homemaker and formerly worked at Louis Marx & Co. She attended Fairview High School. She was a former member of the Fairview Fire Department Auxiliary and the Rebecca Lodge in Lake City. She enjoyed knitting, soap carving and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Petri Sr., in 1984; and infant twin sons.
Survivors include three daughters, Clara 'Tootle" Moore and her husband, James of East Springfield, Nancy Hritz an her husband, Edward, of Troy, Ohio, and Rebecca Perkowski and her husband, Edward of Lake City; two sons, Raymond E. Petri, Jr and his wife, Sally, and John L. Petri, all of Fairview; two sisters, Margaret Foster of Fairview and Jane Hannah Ploss of Erie; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 E. Main St„ Girard, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m A service will be held there in the All Faith Chapel Tuesday at 10 a.m. officiated by the Rev. Clyde Davis of Girard Alliance Church. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Memorials maybe made to the family, 12110 Stoker Road, East Springfield, PA 16411.
