General Notes: Husband - Rev. Thomas R. Ewing


He was a student at the Jacksonville academy. He graduated at Washington college in the class of 1863, and at the Western theological seminary in 1868. He was connected with the Christian Commission for two years, as field agent for the army of the Cumberland, and general field agent. He was pastor of the Presbyterian church at New Alexandria, Westmoreland County, from April 30, 1868, to October 2, 1878. After the latter date he was the proprietor and principal of the Blairsville ladies' seminary.
