General Notes: Husband - William James Hopper


After obtaining a public school education, he mastered the machinist's trade. He was actively engaged at his trade for several years, in 1903 moving to Crafton, Pennsylvania, where he established in the plumbing business, in which he remained until his death. He had prospered in his line and had invested in real estate, at his death owning three houses that had been erected at his direction. During the Civil War he served two enlistments in the Fourteenth Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, one of nine months, the other of one year, and while in the Union service contracted rheumatism, from which he suffered to the end of his life. His political party was the Republican.
