General Notes: Husband - James H. Ewing

He attended the "Clever District" school for many years, then entered a Pittsburgh Academy and for two years was a student at Mount Union College (Ohio). After leaving Mount Union, he returned to the home farm, which was then his home and which he owned in association with his brother, Robert A. Ewing, with whom he made his home, when at the farm. Mr. Ewing was a Republican in politics, and a member of the Second Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh. He was an accomplished vocal musician, his voice a fine tenor, and for several years he was a member of the choir of the North Avenue Methodist Church. He was a member of the Mozart Club, and at one time belonged to the Pittsburgh Musical Association. He was also an accomplished performer on stringed instruments and his services were in great demand, he being associated with several musicians of note. His preference, however, was for church and Sunday school music and in that branch of Christian work he was very active and useful. He later lived retired on Eleventh street, in the West Park section of McKees Rocks.
