General Notes: Husband - James Espy

He was born in the north of Ireland; was a small child when his father emigrated to America and settled on the Swatara; about 1760, he accompanied his brother David to what is now Bedford County, and shortly after to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; subsequently emigrating to Kentucky, where he lived and died. He had twelve children.

The names of some of his children may be gleaned from Josiah Espy's "Tour in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana Territory, in 1805."
