General Notes: Husband - John Riddle Sankey


He grew to manhood on the old homestead in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. He learned the cabinet-maker's trade, which he followed most of his life, in that portion of the state.
Politically he was a Democrat. He was postmaster at the Old Harbor on the canal for many years.
He and his wife reared six children, all of whom were still living in 1888.
