He came from New Jersey to the Genesee Valley, New York state, and from there came to Chewton, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, where he took up a settler's claim. This property never passed out of the hands of the Allen family for many years, and was eventually the estate which his great-grandson occupied and farmed.
