General Notes: Husband - Robert N. Emery

He was born near the line of Butler and Lawrence counties, Pennsylvania. In 1862 he purchased a farm of 100 acres, in Concord township, Butler County, which he then improved. In connection with his duties on the farm, he taught school during the greater portion of his residence in Butler County. In 1864 he enlisted in Company B, Sixth Pennsylvania Artillery, and served until the close of the war. Politically, Mr. Emery was a Republican, and always took an active interest in public affairs.
