He and his wife were married in Butler County, Pennsylvania, and about 1829 removed to the vicinity of Greenville, Mercer County, subsequently located in Pymatuning township, and thence removed into Hickory township and settled south of Clarksville, where both died. They were members of the Presbyterian church, in which body he was an elder for many years.
