Indiana Co, PA - a farmer

He learned the carpenter trade with James Kier, and worked at the trade for fourteen years. He farmed until the autumn of 1860, when he was elected County Commissioner of Indiana County, Pennsylvania, and served three years. He farmed again after his term of office expired.
