General Notes: Husband - David Shaw

He was born in County Antrim, Ireland. He came to America when twelve years old with his parents, settling in Versailles township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, on a farm. [HAC 1889, 385]

At the age of eight years, he was brought to America from Ireland by his parents. Later, after the death of his father, he moved to Versailles township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, fourteen miles east of Pittsburgh, on the pike, near McKeesport.

He and his wife were members of the Old Brush Creek A. R. Presbyterian church, near what was later Larimer station. This church was presided over by the celebrated Hendersons (Matthew, Sr., and his son, Matthew, Jr., and Ebenezer, father of Matthew, Sr.) as pastors.
