General Notes: Husband - George A. Eisaman
He resided for many years on the Church Farm, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He was a carpet weaver. He conducted the choir from early manhood, and only relinquished the work at the approach of extreme old age. To lead a choir in a church whose membership comprised the community, to till its farm, bury its dead and weave its carpet, was to forever keep him in the public eye. His wonderfully retentive memory, and genial disposition made him a general favorite. He lived over ninety years.
The “Zionville Settlement” was composed of members of the Lutheran and German Reformed churches. A farm was purchased and devoted to church purposes. On this property there were erected two fine Lutheran church edifices and one by the Reformed congregation. Two large cemeteries are here, where sleep the honored dead of many decades.
