General Notes: Husband - Tobias Allein

He was descended from the Alleins of Suffolk, and lived in Devizes, Wiltshire, England. He was a tradesman who was engaged by the corporation to take toll of everything sold in the public market, Devizes being the great center of the wool traffic. He was a prominent citizen, his name often appearing in the town records. In 1636 he was sponsor for the equipment of a musketeer in the town train bands. Later he lent the borough three hundred pounds in the time of war. He was a “capital Burgess” of the common council, and was also a devout Puritan.
