General Notes: Husband - Samuel S. McFerran


He was reared in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. He engaged in mercantile business at Hookstown, which he continued for twenty-three years in various parts of the country. In 1874 he located in Beaver Falls, and was superintendent of the gas works until 1881. He was then appointed postmaster of Beaver Falls. He was a member of the A. O. U. W., and politically he was a Republican.
