General Notes: Husband - Nathaniel Kidder

He attended the town schools and grew to manhood at the home farm in Dudley, Massachusetts, having lost his father when he was eleven years of age. He learned the shoemaker's trade at which he worked several years. In youthful manhood he left the home town and in company with his brother Samuel located on adjoining farms at Wardsboro, Windham County, Vermont. There for several summers he toiled to win acres from the stubborn forests and boulders, but each winter returning to Dudley and working at his trade. In the spring of 1792 he married and his wife returned to Vermont with him and henceforth their home was among the hills of the Green Mountain State. In 1802 or 1803 he was elected captain of the town militia, a title he bore through life. He was a devoted Christian and a man of ability and intelligence. Three of his nine sons completed a college course and four entered the ministry; eleven of his sixteen children married and became heads of families, their children numbering sixty-nine. He died at the home of his son Corbin, in Brattleboro, Vermont, on a Sunday morning, having attended church the Sabbath previous.

General Notes: Wife - Polly Eddy

She married as a maiden of nineteen years; she was traditionally one of Dudley's fairest daughters.
She was a superior woman in every respect, honored and beloved by her family and all who came in contact with her pure Christian life.
