General Notes: Husband - William Addison Eakin

CAB, 549 gives Samuel and Maria Eakin from Butler County as the parents of this William Eakin. This would suggest a connection with Samuel and Maria (Riley) Eakin, however information on their family lists a son William with another wife and family. One might speculate that one of these William Eakins was actually the nephew of Samuel and Maria (Reilly) Eakin, a son of Samuel's brother David.

He was born in Ireland, and was two years old when brought to the United States. He was reared in Butler County, PA, and at the time of his marriage to Maria Robb settled in the woods in Irwin Township, Venango County, on a tract of land lying partly in what is now Clinton Township, making a permanent home on that place. The farm lay in what later became famous as the Bullion oil field. He cleared and improved it, building a house in 1843 and a barn in 1846 or 1847. [CAB, 549]

General Notes: Wife - Maria Robb

She died at the age of eighty-seven.
