Mary Isabel Ghost
Violinist was the last living symphony charter member
Memorial service will be Saturday for Mary Isabel Ghost, West Salem Township, formerly of 3 Penn Ave., Greenville. She died Monday morning (8-4-97) in Horizon Hospital System, Greenville. She was 95.
Mrs. Ghost was born Aug. 14, 1901, in Grove City to Ira and Mellie Osborne Eakin.
She attended Grove City College.
A violinist, she was the last surviving charter member of the original Greenville Symphony.
Mrs. Ghost was a former member of the Orpheus Club; the Country Club; and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 63, all of Greenville.
She loved golf and bridge.
Mrs. Ghost was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Greenville.
Her husband, William A. Ghost, whom she married Oct. 12, 1921, died Oct. 9, 1983.
Surviving are: a son, William A. Jr., Greenville; a daughter, Mrs. Howard W. (Mellie) Cardoza, Greenville; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Kent D. Ghost.
