Fairview Twp, Mercer Co, PA
After leaving school, he farmed for a time on the home place and then commenced teaming in the oil fields of the county, continuing in the latter occupation for eighteen years. He then purchased the farm in Fairview Township on which he resided until his death. The exception of his continuous residence in that locality was while he was absent at the front, as a soldier of the Union.
