He came to Venango Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, from Mercer County, where he was born. Some time after his removal to Butler County he purchased a farm in Venango Township, and there carried on general agriculture until his retirement because of advancing age. He died in Butler County, near Foxburg (which is in Clarion County just over the line), at the age of seventy-eight years, after an industrious, useful life.
