General Notes: Husband - Wilmer Grant Dugan

He enjoyed the advantages of an excellent education, first in the public schools of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, then one year in the Oakdale Academy, one year in the Pittsburg Academy, and finally, three years in Grove City College. Upon leaving college he commenced teaching, and made this his life work. He was the principal of the Delmont Academy, of the Green Tree schools, and for nine years or more, of the Parnassus public schools.
In politics he was a Republican, but his views were liberal. He was a member of the Parnassus Presbyterian church, and at the age of twenty years was made superintendent of the Sabbath school. He was an elder in the church for ten years or more. He was county president of the Westmoreland County Christian Endeavor for two years, being the only layman who had ever held that position. He was the first president of the New Kensington Young Men's Christian Association.
