General Notes: Husband - William J. Duffield


He enlisted in Co. D., 4th Wisconsin Cavalry, for three years, serving first as a Sergeant, and afterwards as 2d Lieutenant. July, 1864, he re-enlisted, and commanded his company at the Port Hudson fight, on the lower Mississippi. Soon after that engagement he died in the service.
