General Notes: Husband - Chretien Du Bois

He was a Huguenot gentleman of the family of Du Bois, seigneurs de Beaufermes and de Bourst, and had an estate at Wieres in La Bassee, near Lille, French Flanders, now Artois. The Du Bois family was one of the oldest of the noble houses of Cotenay, in the Duchy of Normandy. The heraldic records of Paris commence the genealogy with Geoffroy du Bois, a knight banneret and a companion of Duke William in the conquest of England in 1066.
