General Notes: Husband - Thomas Alfred Shaw

He graduated from Wooster University and in 1883 from the Allegheny Theological Seminary. Licensed to preach by the Des Moines Presbytery in 1882, he accepted a call to the First United Presbyterian Church of Des Moines shortly after his graduation. He remained there until 1889, when he returned for a few months to his home at Irwin, Pennsylvania, and was then appointed to take charge of the Lombard Street Mission, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. There he remained until the close of the year, and then accepted a call to the United Presbyterian church of Avalon, Pennsylvania. In October, 1901, his health gave way, and though preaching occasionally after that he had no regular charge.
