General Notes: Husband - John Vandling

He was a noted school teacher of central Pennsylvania in the nineteenth century. His grandfather, John Vandling, a native of Germany, came to America when a young man.

He was a man of remarkable stature, six feet, three inches in height, and weighed as much as 240 pounds. A school teacher for many years, he taught for a long period at No. 4 school in Point township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. Later he lived in Harrisburg.
