General Notes: Husband - Henry Douthitt

He was reared on the home farm, with the cultivation of which he assisted at a very early age. After the death of his father he purchased the interests of the other heirs, and successfully managed it alone until his death. He was extensively engaged in the dairy business, and had a herd of about forty cattle. He owned two hundred and fifty-two acres of land, and his farm was considered a model of its size and kind in the section. He was a strong Democrat in his political views, and filled all the local offices in the gift of the township.
