General Notes: Husband - D. Breaden Douthett

He passed his boyhood at the family homestead, attending the rural graded school, and continued to work there with his father until he was twenty-two years old. Then he moved to Butler, Pennsylvania, to begin a business career. The first position which he secured was as a driver, but after a year, he entered the employ of C. Cook & Sons, where he rapidly rose from driver to clerk, and in 1915 was made manager of the store. In 1920 he became part of the staff of the South Side National Bank. Entering as a clerk, in two years he had risen to the position of cashier.
Politically, Mr. Douthett supported the Republican Party. He was actively interested in civic affairs, and has served as a member of the School Board. Fraternally, he was affiliated with the United Commercial Travelers. He belonged to the Butler Board of Commerce, and was treasurer of the Lions Club, of Butler.
