General Notes: Husband - James Shields




He was a native of what is now Adams County, Pennsylvania. He served six and a half years in the Revolutionary war, and was wounded in both arms and a leg. The family removed about 1800, to a farm in East Wheatfield township, Indiana County. In 1816, they located on another farm, later occupied by George McConaughey. James Shields died in 1847, lacking one day of being one hundred and fifteen years of age
